About Us

The Tea Rooms at the beginning of 2020 just before the global Covid 19 pandemic – not the best time to open a new business!

When visiting The Tea Rooms you can expect delicious, freshly prepared food ranging from a light breakfast menu, snacks, lunches, a range of cakes and of course the very popular afternoon teas and not forgetting special events such as CrafterNoons. You’ll also find a range of handmade crafts and gifts for sale at The Tea Rooms made by local crafters including pottery, stained glass, homewares, jewellery, jams and chutneys.

The Tea Rooms are open Monday – Saturday 9.00am to 3.30pm so why not pop in and say hello to Chris and team.

Our History

When Chris and Jo took over the business, it had been running as a tea room, but this hasn’t always been the case.

We found this picture and thought it was lovely to see an old photograph of how The Tea Rooms looked when it was a much-loved local shop and Post Office.

The photograph shows Pat and Marjorie ready to serve local residents, who still refer to our tearoom as Hopkins shop and post office, recalling the wonderful produces.

Pat, along with friends, is still a regular at The Tea Rooms.

Food Hygiene Rating

We are very proud to have a Food Hygiene Rating of 5, or ‘very good’.

Rated May 2024.

Our Menus

We have a range of seasonal menus, so take a look to get an idea of what we have on offer!
